Lima, aug. 24 (ANDINA).- The Government of Germany assigned more than 2 million euros for restoration of water supply systems in quake-affected areas in the South of Peru, this earthquake relief will assist affected people in finding water supplies, announced Wilfred Liehr, the Director of German Technical Cooperation in Peru.
He explained this is a fund devoted to the earthquake-ravaged areas, especially to promote projects on restoring the water and sewerage system in Pisco and other areas hit by the earthquake late Wednesday.
Also, he advanced that measures will be taken to help all affected people to get drinking water through tankers. “German cooperation will benefit at least 10 cities in the earthquake affected areas,” he added.
“Given the emergency in Pisco and surrounding areas, we have decided to help meet the water needs of those earthquake-affected” he concluded.
